DAVID SEMENIUK

David Semeniuk’s current project Way Stations is now on display at VS. This series investigates the gradient between public and private home-like space in two cities that he calls home, Vancouver, B.C. and Red Deer, Alberta. The artist’s studies focus on seemingly banal home-like transitional spaces that delineate and complicate the boundaries of private and public, domestic and natural. These images reveal the intimacies of home and the attempt to construct domesticity within uninhabited private and pseudo-private spaces. A portion of this work has been published in Replace Magazine, One Cool Word Magazine (Issue 4.4), and was shown at 917 Main (former Cobalt) in April 2010.
