“Ultima Thule” is an all-time favourite.  The pattern on the glass is formed by the process of the glass burning the wooden molds.  Thousands of hours were spent perfecting the glass-blowing technique required to produce the effect. These glasses were originally designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Finnish Airways in 1968. The drinking glasses feature three tiny “feet” which prevent them from toppling over during airplane turbulence.  And for you design nerds out there, you might be interested to know Wirkkala also designed a  Finlandia Vodka bottle to match!
