We have always loved the classic design of vintage Braun appliances and electronics. From the SK8 Record player by Dieter Rams (1956) to the electric shavers, calculators and electric kitchen mixers of the 60′s and 70′s, Braun has always championed minimalist, honest design. In all, Dieter Rams spent 40 years designing for Braun, a proponent of the maxim “less and more” (we also sell a book on Rams with the same title). His designs have influenced a slew of younger designers, from Jonathan Ive (Apple) to Jasper Morrison (Rowenta). In 1971, in Dietrich Lubs and Dieter Rams co-designed a series of travel alarm clocks. Luckily for us, they have been recently reissued based on the original designs, and are available in black or white.
