SUMMER MARKETS

Just wanted to let you all know about a couple of markets going on in the ‘hood:

MOUNT PLEASANT MARKET 1886

This is happening Sunday July 12th on Main Street between Broadway and 16th.

The streets will be blocked off to cars from 12-5 pm… kind of like a smaller and more local version of Car Free Day. There will be vendors, music, and Cascade is having a BBQ and Beer Garden which will surely be tons of fun.

MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET

The Wednesday farmers market has been moved from Riley Park down to Main+Terminal (in front of the train station).

The produce is amazing this time of year: great english peas, berries, greens, mushrooms and heirloom tomatoes!

It runs from 3pm – 7pm, June 10 – October 21.

Vancouver Special Turns One!

Lots has been happening lately at the store!

Firstly, we got a new website! It’s still in its infant stages, so check back often as I will be updating it with content, products, and blog posts.

Also, we also just celebrated our first birthday on April 18th! And to commemorate the occasion, two nice guys named Andrew and Jeremy set up a BBQ outside the store and gave away free hot dogs and beer. The sun was shining, Main Street was hoppin’ (it was also international record store day, so there were bands playing at Red Cat and Neptoon Records across the street) and a fun time was had by all! It will definitely become an annual event.

And most importantly, many thanks to everyone for their unbelievable support over the past 12 months!
