Vancouver Special Adam Flewelling, Garden Watcher, 2022 $400.00
Archival pigment print
12 x 16 inches
Edition of 4
In this recent body of work, Flewelling meditates on how contemporary modes of image making inform our experience of now, as a continuously unfolding moment, always framed by memories and projections. Upon viewing these moments captured during the pandemic, our experience of time gets put into question, expanding within and beyond each frame. The formal selection of disparate, fragmented, images, ultimately call into question structures of value, while considering both the evidential nature and poetic potential of a photograph.
Adam Flewelling, based in Vancouver, is a visual artist living and working on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish, Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish Nations. Flewelling holds a BFA in photography from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. He has exhibited work through the Belkin Art Gallery, Remington Gallery, Grunt Gallery, Gordon Smith Gallery and Presentation House.
